IFTA Welfare Trust was founded by Sajid Raza Haidri (Late) on November 03, 2008. He was a professional engineer, a social worker, a writer and a poet. He wrote more than 27 books on different topics of life including equality, generosity and spending for the poor.
It is an independent, non-governmental and non profit-welfare organization. By the grace of Allah, we have successfully introduced 15 Humanitarian programmes in Pakistan to cater the basic needs of underprivileged strata of our society with focus on Health, Education, Water, Food and Social Well being.
Objectives of IFTA Welfare Trust
- To provide basic education for children living under poverty
- To develop and provide such forms of medical care and welfare services as required by the community
- Safe water supply, accessible free of cost in a dignified manner
- Alleviation of hunger and malnutrition by providing balanced dietary requirements in the form of monthly ration, sadqa meat to the underprivileged especially old widow’s families.
- To provide scholarship for university based students in their semester fee. They are the future of Pakistan.
After the death of the founder on January 27, 2018, all the members of the Board of Trustee unanimously appointed his son, Dr. Fakhir Raza Haidri as the CEO of the Trust.
IFTA Welfare Trust is currently providing their services and doing welfare work in most underprivileged areas of Karachi like Orangi Town, Qasba Colony, Baldia Town, Malir, and Korangi etc.
In addition, it also provides assistance and services on Humanitarian ground in Sind, Punjab, Baluchistan, and Skardu & Baltistan. Our 100% donation based policy ensures that all your donations are spent on the objectives of the Trust.
The financial statements of the Trust are regularly audited and published between the stakeholders of the Trust. We publish our performance reports on regular intervals in order to keep our stakeholders update on the projects of the Trust.
IFTA has recently applied for certification from Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) as well as the Trust intends to take tax exemption from the tax authorities.

Project status (ongoing/planned) and Project timeline
In-house school campus I:
Started early 2017. 30 students are enrolled in campus including boys & girls, both.
We have provided separate classes according to age group and ability.
The in-house school system is an initiative by IFTA to provide accelerated education to those who cannot afford to go to school regardless of their age. We provide school uniform, bags, shoes and sweater in winter free of cost. The purpose of establishing these schools is to make children capable at least to read, write and learn things so that they can get admission easily in any conventional schools accordingly.
2. In-house school campus II:
In-house school 2 Skardu, Baltistan started by 15 May 2018. 40 students are enrolled in campus II. All the strategy, objective and policies are remaining the same like we are providing for our In-house school campus I.
3. After School Project.
This project started in Sept 2018. It is built in the mosque so that it is used from Zohar prayers to Maghreb prayers. The teacher is giving both tuition as well as ethical education to the child. The purpose of initiated this project in slum area is to give a healthy and loving environment for local children for better learning. There are 50 students who are easily getting basic education between the given hours.
4. School Fee Support
IFTA is financing more than 200 students in different age groups which they are being studied in various schools of Baldia Town and Orangi Town in Karachi. We are providing books & uniforms to many students free of cost.
IFTA’s aims and objectives towards the project are to grasp out the talent from the neglected sector of our society.
5. Financial Sponsorship for Higher Education students.
IFTA is supporting for deserving students / candidates with funds and scholarships opportunities for fulfilment of their academic needs. In 2019, we were financing 50 university students in their semester fees in the field of Engineering; Medical & Business Management based colleges across Pakistan.
IFTA Medical Centre:
- A Professional Lady Doctor is assigned and she is looking after the patients especially women and kid in Morning hours from Sat to Mon between 9:00 am to 12:00. We charged only RS 50 for general treatment and provide medicines free of cost.
- A qualified dental surgeon is looking after the patients in 2nd half from Sat to Mon between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This Dental Clinic started in operation from April 2019 under ZMC.
- Dental treatments are very expensive but IFTA is providing an opportunity especially for low income families’ @50% discount rate. We also establish free medical check-up for all under the ZMC.
- General OPD Male doctor: Timing: 6 pm to 9pm. Sunday closed.
- We intend to initiate obstetrics and eye clinic depending on the availability of funds in future.
1. Patient Welfare Project.
This project is based on providing financial assistance to needy people for health related Queries. We provide free medicine to needy patients and bearing hospitalization cost, if needed.
2. RO Plant:
Shortage of water in orange Town is a routine phenomenon. Proper supply of water is almost invisible in this area. The Tanker system for water supplying is prevailed there. Clean water has the power to change lives so FTA initiated this project RO Plant in Orangi Town, Karachi on 21 July 2018. Our RO Plant capacity is 6500 litres per day. We are currently supplying 300 houses with packed drinkable water free of cost at the doorstep of needy and low income families.
Orphan Girls Wedding Support:
IFTA is considering and looking after this social grave issue and give special concern on the subject and help out especially widow’s families from time to time. We are doing wedding arrangements of widow’s daughter every month. IFTA did more than 38 wedding arrangements of orphan girls across Pakistan in the year 2019 in different forms. We contributed with them in forms of many ways like providing them Jahaz, dinner, lawn rent, wedding dresses etc.
Monthly Ration Supply Project.
IFTA’s founder always paid attention and provided rations to needy families. Initially he distributed monthly ration in few houses and with the passage of time no of houses increased.
Per ration bag cost PK RS 3500/- Currently we are supplying 57 monthly ration at the doorstep of needy and low income families.
1. Ramzan Ration Project.
IFTA Trust helps poor and low income families by providing them complete Ration to indigent families every year for the holy month of Ramazan. The Ration is sufficient for a month for a family.
In the year 2019, we distributed 900 Ramadhan Ration bags in Slum areas of Karachi including Orangi Town, Pehalwan Goth, Mughal Hazara Goth, JafrayTayyar ,Baldia Town and in Skardu, Baltistan.
2. Cooked meal and Sadqa Meat Project:
IFTA is distributing cooked meal (pack biryani) on Thursday to homeless peoples on the footpaths of government hospital, civil hospital, Abbasi Shaheed hospital in a dignified manner in Karachi.We have been distributed so far SADQA MEAT of 42 goats in different areas of Karachi over the entire year of 2019. Also, we had supplied approximately Biryani Boxes 6730 in different poor areas of Karachi in 2019.
3. Eid Qurbani Meat:
The tradition of sacrificing animals and distributing the meat to the poor during Eid Al Adha is becoming increasingly troublesome and expensive for many people. By the grace of Allah, IFTA distributed 65 live goats in 2019 to orphans and low income families (having little kids) before Eid al Adha. This was to serve two purposes: Firstly the revival of the Sunnah of the Prophet Ibrahim, and secondly, the removal of the sense of deprivation in those little kids.
Moreover, approximately more than 600 packed boxes of qurbani meat (beef and mutton) were distributed to low income families in a dignified manner. IFTA also distributed qurbani meat of 5 goats in Skardu Baltistan in 2019.
4. Winter Lehaf Project
IFTA initiated this winter Lehaf project since the Trust was established but this project was not much active in the early few years. In 2018, around 300 Lehaf distributed among poor families in Skardu, Usto Mohammad, D.I. Khan, and some areas in Karachi. In 2019, IFTA distributed 400 lehaf among people residing in cold Skardu and some areas of Karachi.
Profiles of the Trustees
Dr. Fakhir Raza Haidri
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Trustee of IFTA Welfare Trust. He is currently serving in Sind Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) as Head of Intensive Care Unit and Associate Professor of Medicine. Prior to joining SIUT, he has worked with Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar as Specialist Medical ICU. He is a MBBS, MCPS and FCPS (Fellow College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan). He has also worked in different NGOs including Medics International as Office Bearer.
Mr. Basim Raza
He is a Trustee of IFTA Welfare Trust and responsible for managing all the legal affairs of the Trust. He has completed his BA-LLB from Lahore University of Management Sciences. Mr. Raza is an Advocate of the High Court of Pakistan and is employed by MCA Law Associates.
Mr. Muhammad Hasan
The another trustee of IFTA Welfare Trust. He is also serving as Chief Accountant for IFTA Welfare Trust. He has over 11 years of experience in the field of Accounts, Financial Management and Product Development. He is currently working with Central Depository Company of Pakistan. He is a Fellow Certified Chartered Accountant (FCCA-UK) and Associate Chartered Accountant of England & Wales (ICAEW).
